First the term biosecurity was totally foreign to me a year ago. I have learned proactive steps I can take to help keep my birds healthy
Second I have learned from some of you to not stress if I can't do everything the experts say is best. Like many of you I don't have the finances (or physical abity) to provide covering and or netting over a large enough area. I am hoping my honorary roo (a Giant Schnauzer) who loves his chickens and takes his job as protector very seriously will be enough. After a hawk touched down he chases every critter that is not his chickens away!
We are working towards more cover and turning our garage into a small barn but it will take us all summer!
Everyone on here has so much to offer. I hope we can still offer our opinions with a measure of Grace and kindness toward each other so we can learn, laugh and cry together.
After all the Indiana BYC thread is the best group on here right!
This silly thing sent b4 I was done -something I accidentily do it on my phone all the time!
