They have miniature cows if you're looking to stay small. *grin* My friends with goats have one. She's adorable. Going to calve any day now.
I am a very adventurous eater.. I've had ostrich, squirrel, dove, horse, rabbit, shark, aligator. I've eaten seriously questionable things like raw beef, blood sausage, Dutch herring (cured in it's own bile, YUMMO!), eel. I drank raw cows milk in my youth, roaming around on a dairy farm. Spent countless hours around all sorts of critters.... As an open minded food lover I can tell you.. that cheese was NASTY.
Tasted like dirty goat... I imagine rotting garbage would taste similar. And rotting hay. And their droppings.
A mini Jersey would be fun. Heck, it's just day dreaming at this point.
While I am surrounded by rural land, I do live smack dab in a college town. It's a funny place. We have pre-school to university within walking distance from one another. Someone in my neighborhood has goats, a friend has heard them before.. but her yard butts up to farm land. I used to live two streets over, our apartment complex overlooked a field with horses. The city is ok with my birds, although I had to get rid of my rooster after noise complaints. Dont think they'd like me having a goat or mini cow Pretty sure I'm pushing my luck with the muscovy.. Just glad I clipped their wings after they flew to the neighbor.
