Awwww, you thought I was disturbed???
Our neighbors don't bring any of their animals inside. Most of the mennonites around here do not. They don't see animals as pets, not even their dogs. They're not bad people, mind you, I guess it's kind of a cultural thing.
You should have seen the look on their faces when my husband built a cat house for our feral "tamest cat in the world" cat.
(What can I say? He was out of work last year for 7 months, recovering from a broken leg. He was bored. The cat needed shelter for the winter because he truly is feral, and even though we took him in as a kitten, he absolutely refuses to use a litter box.)
Oh...that's our future chicken coop in the background. We're still going back and forth on how to retrofit it. It has a double farm door on the other side. It's in rough shape...I'm not sure I really want to do much to it. I'd rather build a whole new coop.
Alas...we are still recovering from missing that 7 months worth of income. Money's tight around here!
