sometimes I can be described as intense lol. i prefer enthusiastic.
when i was 14 my parents announced we were moving to a 1000 acre sheep farm from a surf side suburb of sydney. i checked out a 900 page book on animal husbandry from the library and taught myself down to very fine details, all about raising and breeding cattle sheep and pigs. i wrote a huge argument for removing the embargo on allowing the arial spraying of fertilizer with concentrations of sulfer greater than 40%. it became a stand alone article in the leading ag newspaper in australia and i was called upon as an expert in the field - till they found out i was just 15 lol
maybe i have propensity for intensity
I dont really have a life lol. As my family is all 7500 miles away, I could either watch tv, look at internet porn or do what I do. So I let my mind wander, I surf from internet site to internet site (non porn) until I come accross something that grabs me. right now I am researching plants that can grow in salt spray environments. I found a great list. Now i am googling each one, seeing if they have a name for it in the philippines so I may buy it there. if it does not, then i find out how it grows, can i grow from seeds or do i need plants and where can i buy here. when i am finished i hope to be able to have a plan to landscape the garden around our house a little better.
all this planning is a must when dealing with situation we have. its a 3 hour ride from the city where we can buy specialty items to cocobeach and an hour round trip to the small city where we buy cement, steel and nails.
life is very different over there. as far as nails go, i try to never finish a project with more than a couple of pounds because six months later they will just be a blob of rust and cement becomes a rock in weeks. people arent used to excess and as excess implies its not needed it will often just disappear. I also have to explain everything to people who use english as a second language. last week i wanted contact cement to glue a rubber pad to the inside walls of the trailer. i tried everything i knew and could not get accross what i wanted till i immitated a glue sniffer - i needed to buy rugby. without lateral thinking, its a tough place to get things done.
the next project (s)
finish goat house
make aljays quarters
finish planting fruit trees
build bernies new house
accquire some female dairy goats
arrange to bring in pig semen when i eventually need it
aquaponics with milk fish
build and plant 200 sq feet vege garden
propogate more replacement coconuts
propogate ipil ipil trees for goat fodder
look for, buy and plant a tamarind tree
and so much more
