Rhode Island Red/Australorp Cross. Gender? New Pics!

I have NO idea what breed this is. This breed is a cross between a Rhode Island Red (dad) and Australorp (mom). Any clues on gender? The chick is 4 weeks old.

The coloring is hard to tell with the pictures but the feathers are red and black. The black has almost a greenish sheen. Very, very pretty. Feathers came in evenly.

Looks like the ones I call "Robins"  No idea what mine are either but they turn into nice heavy birds that lay well!  I think mine might be Austrolorpe/ Orpington crosses?  TerriO

Is it possible that this one is the Easter Egger?  It looks like it might have a pea comb and green legs?  If so, I think it's a girl.

It's a comb that pays much flatter to the head than what you typically think of as a chicken comb.  Bumpy instead of flat then pointy.

Does a pea comb tend to determine breed or gender?

A mutt big_smile.png  or some prefer the term barnyard mix

Fyi, all your barred birds will be cockerels from the mix you're describing........a red roo over barred hens gives sex linked chicks.
