Hi All,

I have a BO hen that is acting like she does not feel well.
Symptoms:
- hanging around in the pen while the others are out playing in the yard.
- Eyes closed like she is taking a nap
- Wings kind of dragging.
- Looks like she does not have much energy.
- She over all looks like she does not feel wall at all.

I see now visible problems like wounds or anything like that.

Does anyone have any idea what she my be suffering from?

Thanks

Is anyone out there...

Dont give her gatorade, it has too much salt, it's not good for chickens. Yes, she's sick. Separate her from the others, first of all.
What other symptoms does she have? Eating, drinking? Eyes clear, any discharge? What are her droppings like? How old is she?
For starters, separate her, and make sure she's eating. You can buy Vitamin/ electrolyte powder at the feed store, which is the same as
Gatorade, only for chickens and it's not expensive. Give her whatever she will eat. Warm oatmeal or scrambled eggs, or chopped fruit, or tomato, will tempt
sick chickens, and they must eat, or they will get dehydrated quickly, and then theyare goners.

It could be cocci and you can either buy Amprol, and give on tsp per gallon in drinking water, or you can give her some medicated chick starter,
which has Amprol in it. It could also be a lot of other things, but Amprol is very mild and will not hurt her. Can you give some more symptoms?
