Are These Old English Game? Are they hens or roosters or one of each?

while they could be American Games, the hens look a little too petite, have mostly white earlobes and both have blue legs which lead me to believe they are Phoenix. Not that that is a sure-fire answer as many lines of A.G.'s have blue legs and several lines will have some white or all white in the earlobes. (The AGFS show standard says to dub the earlobes on the hens that show this trait though, so it is not considered "proper" to some.) If we knew what they weighed that'd help shed some light on the subject.

t8562005 - that hennie yours? looks like a nice one

I don't have a way to weigh them, but they are about the size of a bantam.

So, these girls fly. So far I have kept them in an enclosed pen with top and have not put them with the other birds. I figured I'd return them to where I got them if I can't find homes for them. They haven't laid anything yet, but the rest of my flock is just starting to lay within the last week. After I had them for about 10 days, I put a light in the coop and leave it on, for a total of at least 16 hours of light and it seems to be working. Since those girls are separate, they don't get the added light.

Thank you for all of the input, it's all so interesting.

they look like Phoenix hens and will lay white eggs. my parents have one pullet but she hasn't laid yet. if you were closer and really didn't want those 2 girls i would take them in a heartbeat

Agreeing with you, Golden Phoenix.

Beautiful. I guess "drab" compared to the roosters, but I think they are beautiful birds.

Well, I was going to return them if no one took them by yesterday. But this morning I decided to let them out with the others and I guess we'll see if they ever go back in their coop or if they disappear on those wings of theirs... Talk about "free range"

Maybe I'll get funny baby chicks in the spring, Barred Rock or Easter Egger crosses would be fascinating...LOL.

Curious about these two. One has Spurs. They seem tall but skinny.
