Shivering in Northern Michigan!
I everyone I am going to be raising some baby chicks for the first time and am wondering about what to add to their water. I have read about sugar water and molasses as well as electrolytes. I'm not sure what to use so was wondering what you all add to your chicks water and how its worked out for you.

Thanks

Apple Cider Vinegar works wonders for chicks and chickens. Its great for them.
X2 See if you can find the organic, unfiltered kind though. It's better than the supermarket ones. It helps prevent pasty butt and studies shows it helps prevent coccidiosis as well. I'm a big fan of ACV for chicks. I had much healthier, happier chicks since I've started using that.
Electrolytes, sugar and molasses should only be used if needed. For example if you get shipped chicks and weak/sick chicks.

I use water without additives. The feeds provide than enough salts and sugars. The organic (not as in organically produced) acids such as found in vinegars and lemon juice to my knowledge provide no advantage to otherwise healthy birds.
