Setting eggs this weekend (Jan5/6) WHOS WITH ME!

My chickens are quite the mix now.  I started with hatchery barred rock hens with a black sex-link rooster.  Then I added in some heavy red meat chicken.  It will be great if I can get a little weight on my layers!

Neat, you will have to post some pics!

You should have the eggs with the fat end up and the pointed end down. And Im sure the 6 hours in the turner didnt do much harm.

Phew, that is what I thought, and thanks :)

Can't wait for our marans to hatch! I have a better feeling about these eggs... Our last time incubating we had 6 bantam easter eggers and we used a homemade incubator... The problem we had was to much fluctuation going on... I think our new LG will do better! It's end of day 1 and it's run at 100 degrees and 37% humidity the whole day without making any adjustments!

Im nervous about this hatch My last hatch did so well I feel like this time will be a disaster. Im both so anxious and so nervous to candle on day 7.

Haha us too! I think we learned a lot from our last time! We are ready this time and can't wait till day 7 to see our little guys developing!

I'm really looking forward to hatching some out. (The blue runners are beautiful aren't they..) I have contracted hatching addiction. This could prove to be dangerous.
"Baby Blue" as my daughter has named him, is absolutely gorgeous & he hasn't even gotten his full adult set of feathers yet. By Spring he will be quite a specimen. The penciled hen is beautiful. She & the blue & white hen are my favorites. I actually love all of them, but I need to cut some of my flock back due to space & feed bills.

we had to start our batch on friday to coordinate w/ our work schedules but so far so good. Have 18 from our americana/blue copper maran roo over 5 americana hens - hoping for olive eggers - and 4 button quail. Started w/ 8 quail but managed to crack or dent 4. Fragile little devils, aren't they?
