Today's temperature = # of eggs.

What are you feeding them? I am having good luck with mine by mixing lay pellets, lay crumbles, and scratch all together. They are getting a balanceof everything, and are laying good even in this heat.

They get lay crumbles, scratch and a lot of forage time. When they do lay, I get nice hard shell brown eggs. They are young tho. And since they're production reds and are maturing at different rates I suppose I'm in for some surprises. On the plus side, my grasshopper problem is much improved. I may even be able to plant dahlias again!

That's a plus! Are they laying where you want them to or are they laying randomly in yard? And are they protected from flying predators? Hawks owls and buzzards are lethal. Good luck hope they all start laying soon. God bless

I've been unable to locate any in the wooded area. We are having a few cooler days starting today. I may see some differences.
