KNOCK KNOCK ... Its usps you have a package . I almost dropped my computer in my haste to get up , I thought it was my ecoglow 20 brooder ( my bf ddint tell me tell later that ath was UPS) but the mail lady coo ed over butter who I scooped up on the way to the door and then handed me a small box. It coudnt be the brooder its to small so I glance at the lable GQF , WOW I wasnt expecting my replacement part for a few days. Inside the box was a corde with socket with a lightbulb screwwed in already and the screw to attach it to the bator and a shipping slip. I have to stop here to Plug the GQF site not be cuase its one of our sponsers (while that makes them cool in and of itself ) but becuse there shipping has been FAST FAST FAST, I put in my order for the chicbator apx the 30/31st of December they proccessed and shipped the bator out on the 2nd of january (remmber new years whas the first ) so 2 to 3 days tops for processing and getting it shipped out and I got the bator on Friday January 4th , just 2!! days after it was shipped out. WOW, I had to wait till Monday Jan 7th to call and tell them the cord or socket on the cord was not working ( I didnt much grumbleing about waiting) But I called on monday , they were nice , fast and efficent on the phone so much so that I was a bit confused after I hung up but Im pretty sure that was me and not them. No grumbleing or telling me to try it this way or was I sure I did it right (brinsea custmer service
though I dont really blam them) but anyways . I called Monday january 7th about the part and I got it today in the mail a short little 3 days later. 3 Days , to put it in the comptuer , proccess it and ship it out and for me to get it . THats the fastest I have gotten anything except maybe shipped eggs from byc members.
.
So I put the bator together , again wondering how on earth this little plastic thing is sapose to hatch eggs. It was pretty simple , and strait forward even to me and I cant read instructions normmaly to save my life.
Its set up and stitting next to me warming up , so far its at 89/90 degrees , Im thinking something as simple as placeing a small clean kitchen towel around the base and about 1/4 of the way up the dome might make the temp warm up and keep stable , but I have yet to try that its only been going for about 20 minutes and my liveing room is probly 2 deggrees lower then I have been keeping it just becuase I had to open a windo and get some freash air , Im a freash air fanaitic and if I didnt have brooder and bators going in my house I would have most my windows cracked untill the temp dropped below 25 f .

Small yellow then plastic bowel with 4 little hollow eggs You put water in one or two for humidity. With small clear plastic bowl dome. A cord with small socket and 7 watt night light bulb with a bracket to screw into the yellow bowl. A small round of wire mesh folded in half with a little strip of doubled aluminum foil to block direct expsosre of the eggs to the bulb. There is also a little piace of aluminum foil in the bottom of the yellow bowl that rests behind the bulb to reflect light/heat.. There is a small hole in the top of the clear dome for air flow . The wire just sits in the yellow bowl , no notch or lip is provided to hold it steady. It came with a small little therm and says to place it at egg hight so I put a small unused dish scrubby in there and set the threm on this.
There is no red light in the bator thats a reflection of my brooder lamp across the room.
This shows the notch in the clear dome for the cord there is also a indent in the yellow bowl for the cord.
all in all a small incubator , maybe the size of a large grapefruit or small childs ball.
where the cord comes out and where the ligth screws into the bottom.
Set up with the therm and something to put it at egg hight.
