My silkies are about 7 months old and I still have no eggs! I am totally bummed out and now it is cold it is completely hopeless! My roaster never breeds with my girls, and yes he certainly is a rooster and I certainly have 3 hens, as the squat when I bend down to pick them up!

ADVICE AND ADVICE ADVICE is what I need.. PLEASE!!!!

He probably isn't mating with them because they're not mature enough to interest him yet, or he may just be mating when you're not around to see it.  Furthermore, silkies (from what I understand) mature more slowly than most varieties.  Where I would expect to have eggs from my chickens within six months, I wouldn't expect eggs from silkies for a while after that, especially considering the time of year.

To put it simple, be patient--you can't rush nature.
