Backyard Brahmas!!

Hello!! I have 2 Brahmas that should be here with their 2 Favorable and 2 Silkie sisters the first of October. I'm so excited to find this group. When I have time I'll start working my way through all the 515 pages of info

I'm planning to get some light brahma chicks. Have any of you had experience with Meyer, McMurray or Cackle hatcheries? Thanks for the feedback. They don't have to be show birds, but I would like them to be pretty.
My girls are from My Pet Chicken

I have a question about Brahmas. I have 5 bantam Buffs. They’re 6 weeks old and I’m wondering when the red shoulders start becoming apparent? I don’t see a lot of difference in their combs yet, though they’re all growing in. They’re all so similar, I have a hard time telling them apart, tho two are more active/assertive/whatever.

My partner has wanted Brahmas and I finally found a breeder near me who has some chicks.

What is the best way to make your brahmas super friendly and how do you tell between male/female as six weeks old chicks?
