I would say she is a blue buff columbian. Blue, to differentiate her from the more common black trimmed buff columbians, buff the base color, and columbian being the pigment pattern.
Agreed with have a mix breed bantam that is a blue buff columbian. she doesn't have a name but we call her blue buff. her father is a black partridge and the mother is blue.
So, to get a 'Blue Buff Columbian', I would need a Black Partridge cock bird over a Blue hen or a Blue Partridge hen? And what do you consider a Black Partridge? A normal Partridge? Do you have pics? Thanks!!
It was a very rare occurence they are mixes them selves. she looks blue but has a brownish teng in the right sun. We have gotten blue and really amazing colors to down right ugly orange on blue. We even got a blue lemon partridge. he was very beautiful. we have also gotten black hens with gold necks. we always get new colors from each time she hatches. they are a great pair.
Thanks for the response James. That's really cool. I love crazy colors. I'd like to make that color in the future, so if anyone knows how to make it, let me know. Thanks!
