I am in WA state (don't even remember where they are so google it LOL) and I am thinking it was a spring order....not sure. It might have been summer.

I have had a lot of chicks in the past and it is getting hard to remember the details.

I've ordered from MPC and was very happy with my order. It was Rainbow Layers, I think... I am planning on ordered sexed bantams from them sometime this year. Yah, pullets. I've already suffered the experience of dealing with 14 "packing peanut" cockerels in an order from Ideal. (My fault - apparently two goslings were not enough to keep themselves warm..) But, aha! TWO of the fourteen RIR chicks turned out to be pullets!

Anyway, I really like MPC. Saw a program on Bloomburg about the husband/wife team that started and owns MPC.

I'm in California.

I am in SE WA, I ordered from MPC and my chicks should be arriving mid March, I'm a little stressed out about them being shipped---but I have read great things about MPC, hope yours arrive healthy!

My experiences have been relatively good all in all, they have good customer communication and all, I was just a little disappointed in the quality of the birds I received. As is the case with many commercial hatcheries, they breed for quantity and convenience, not quality and perfection. The birds I received grew up with crooked toes and beaks, and bad color patter, signs of inbreeding and very little attention to detail. Now I know I myself am a breeder and look out for these kinds of things, but I suppose for the average backyard chicken raiser, it's forgivable. They lay pretty well, and are decently healthy and would be great if that's all you're looking to get out of them.

I hope this helps!

My chicks were shipped Monday morning and arrived last Wednesday at 6am, I picked them up at the post office right away, I ordered 15 Buff Orpington female chicks. All arrive alive and looked good but one became lethargic about 22 hours after arrival and died within 9 hours after I first noticed the lethargy. The rest are doing very well and it has been 4 days since we lost the one chick. I called MPC immediately after she died and they were very helpful and sent me a prompt refund for her. Overall I have been extremely satisfied with MPC and will definitely purchase from them again in the future!!

I am in SE WA.
