Important things to know... - Page 2

It is very scary. I garden organic and save seeds. I also get my meat from my dad who is a farmer. He is a reformed spray everything, give shots for growth, farmer. He just mentioned to me that corn borers were eating his sweet corn. He could have purchased corn that would genetically kill the corn borers. But he said," If it kill the worms, what does it do to you when you eat the corn!?!"
Currently he is raising his own organic feed for his chickens, cows and pigs. But for how long? The farmer that has a field next to him may decide to plant GMO's then what?

Finally someone else who has seen this. I started a thread that really did not go anywhere... http://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=54826

Monsanto
has been discussed here quite abit I recommend doing a search, people really do need to get informed. I grew up with raw milk delivered by the neighbors, got eggs from another, we bought chickens from the Hutterite (kinda like amish) bought side of beef & pork & had a huge garden that fed my parents & my 5 brothers & sisters. The only one of us that has had constant health problems is my baby bro, he grew up with microwaves & fast food - has Krones disease. You are what you eat.....

My favorite part of the corporation is that a corporate lawyer was instrumental in making it....

My brother thinks he's a chicken - we don't talk him out of it because we need the eggs.
