I do not allow my dogs to eat leftovers off of my plates. I see them lick their butt and eat all the chicken poo they can find.... GROSS!!!!  But more than that I believe the dog can learn VERY bad habits from being allowed to eat off MY dishes. They are NEVER allowed to beg for food, stare at me while I eat, or EVER touch my plate, even after I am done with it. The only place they are allowed to eat is out of their dog dish, which is where any leftovers go....or I throw them out into the yard to discourage them from using the bathroom in the yard by the house because sometimes I feed them there.   Just my take on it.

No research, but memory from my grade school days tells me that a doctor named Jenner noticed that milk maids who had cow pox didn't get small pox, and developed the vaccine. Smallpox was a big killer throughout history until than. The last known case of small pox was in Somalia in 1977.

I'm very specific on what my dogs can and can't eat. If I give it to them and say "okay" or "take that", or "here", it's fair game. If it's on the table, counter, stove top, etc. they don't touch it. I have dumb dogs but they're smart enough to learn what is theirs and what is mine. My dogs are plenty large enough to counter cruise, but they don't. Cause the food up there is mine and they know that!

Well, the kittens aren't so cute anymore and the easter egger cockerels are in the freezer. Plus, I think offering them as "prizes" scared folks off! So, I'm still posting quotes, if you know it let me know. I'm very enamored of this new one, it may hang around for a while!

I'm with Sour , Peaches Lee, and other no way no dog licking my plate. It gives me the willies.

Now as for the suggestions of an autoclave ,  wow what a great idea. Taking your own utensils to a resturant, hey, never thought of that. I might have to start.

I'm honest. Everytime I kiss my nephew I get sick. Twice this year. Head cold around New Years, and yesterday I had the stomach flu. Both times right after I watched him. No more kisses for a while lol.
