Cheap States to live in?

I live in Connecticut and the taxes here are crazy and everything is expansive.  If you want to survive in this state you need to make atleast $16-$20 an hour and that's just living with barely any spending money left over..  I just went to a poultry show in Massachusetts and gas there was $3.30, here in CT it's like $3.50-$3.60 per gallon.  Anyways, my plan is to get experience here in CT as a pest control tech then move.  Any states that's cheap that always have pest control jobs?

 

I really like New Mexico, Colorado, South Carolina, Nevada.  Are these good choices? What do you think?

Kentucky is cheap living too. 20 acres for49.000$ with a 3/2 double wide
. Gas is 3.15$ right now. I pay 170$ every two weeks for groceries. Some areas in SE Ky have free gas royalties, wells..... The weather has 4 seasons and none too extreme.

 Kentucky,  I was just looking at real estate on the computor there yesterday. I desperately want to go some where for winter, the cold is too much for me anymore. Now I am really gonna have to scope things out there.

Around Murfreesboro TN is a great area too. You can get some acreage and jobs are there too. Nashville is within distance. Stay away from around military posts, those areas a more expensive because they know what the BAH is and there are many folks competing for work.

When you think of pest control you have to think of cockaroaches, ants, termites, etc. all of which inhabit the State of Florida in great numbers.  Everyone has pest control come to their houses and business in Florida and I think it would be quite easy to find a job almost anywhere in the state if you are qualified.  Also, Florida has many, many places that are quite inexpensive to live.

Texas is pretty inexpensive too. Course if you're talking buying in big cities, you'll really pay big. But around south of Tyler, in east Texas, you'll find some beautiful places to live fairly cheap and no state income taxes. Gas is about the same here as anywhere else. It fluctuates between 3.50 and 3.10 this winter.
