Its never worked well for me.

Well, I think they'll be alright with each other. Plus, I already ordered them. My friend raised two chicks, and they did great! The feed store lady said that would probably be alright. But, thanks for the concern. :)

I'm hopefully getting 6 chicks in early April.  Two EE's and one each of the following: speckled sussex, blue orpington, blue laced red wyandotte and barred plymouth rock.  I'm so excited and nervous at the same time, I hope they all make it ok!

I was super nervous when I got them the first time! I was afraid everything would go wrong, but everything went okay. I was especially scared I would have them to hot or to cold, but they will pretty much tell you. They liked it at about 90* the first week! Not saying I am not nervous this time around, (my second time) But not quite as bad! haha.

I've never done anythign like this, getting animals in the mail, and I keep running through all the scenarios in my head.  Probably shouldn't be doing that but I really love animals and I want myself to be prepared in the event any of them don't make it.  I've heard really good reviews from the place I ordered them from so I'm hoping I'll have a similar experience.  Went to a chicken show yesterday and now I'm even more excited to get my chicks....probably should at least get the brooder built smile.png  It was so hard not to get any chickens at the show.

I know! I wanted to get chicks as soon as I saw the ones my friend had, but I made myself wait until I knew how to care for them and how to build the coop ect. I picked mine up, so I don't know how the feeling of getting them mailed! I know all of them not making it is unusual. If you are getting them through the mail, I would strongly suggest putting elctrolytes in their water!
