Farm Marketing and Profits from a Natural perspective

that add is fantastic. We may add pigs in the future as my grandfather used to raise here. I may pick your brains a bit when we do.

That won't take long.....

Somebody was screwing around on facebook yesterday, saw that picture on Carla's profile and called it a Bacon Seed, and I thought it was too good not to use, so I asked if I could use it and here we are. I may try to brand it as kind of one of those exclusive sayings that goes with my farm.

New ad copy going out. Please do not copy this:

Would you like Bacon Seeds or Bacon Bits?
Bacon Seeds for sale. Serenity Farms of Ohio, OhioPorkandPoultry.com has piglets, brand new, never used.... Ooops, sorry, not selling cars....
There are several methods to receiving a purebred Tamworth from us. First, is the true Bacon Seed- A Bacon seed is a young piglet, over 8 weeks of age that you can raise. You can buy breeder stock @ $400.00 each, but I need to know within the next week if you want one, before they get neutered for feed stock. The second method would be to buy feeder stock at the same age. Those are $125.00 each. If you buy more than one or for a 4h project (Under 18) they will be $100.00 each.
Next, you can buy a bacon bit. Bacon Bits are feeders that we raise for you. You buy these by the pound hanging weight at a guestimated weight of 225-275lbs. In other words we will raise your premium pork for you. We also need to know soon on that because we need to know how many to keep. There is a deposit and a payment program available. Let me know if you want Bacon Seeds or Bacon Bits. Bacon Bits ought to be ready by October 2013.
Thanks,
Shawn and Carla!

Google #1, area farmers # 2

I have been told there is a guy in my area who has a day time job and travels from an Amish communities to our north and south to trade livestock for them to maintain better blood lines and prevent problematic inbreeding and trades with others and is making a pretty good sum on it, plus he found out there are some people in our area who's religious beliefs require them to slaughter certain animals at certain times for their ceremonies. He sold them plenty of sheep, chickens, goats etc. it is bringing him so much money for selling them and also disposing of the carcasses he found out what requirements where needed to build a building with windows/doors in the right locations to face certain directions for certain ceremonies and he rents out a small building to them to do there stuff in. One price if they buy the animal(s) from him and another if they acquire from elsewhere. also he buys and sells livestock for butchering, from what I was told he's about ready if the business stays up he's going to get out of his day job do this full time and raise more animals himself...
