Everyone has hatched, except two...

All of my eggs have hatched, except 2. I candled them and can see the chick moving inside. I'm still new at this, wondering if they will hatch or are a lost cause...this is day 23.

If they are moving in there, lock them down and keep an eye on them. They may have just been in a cooler area of the incubator and be a couple of days behind. Even the best incubators sometimes have cool spots that can cause late bloomers. If you still have movement, there is no reason to give up on them!

Current flocks are Giant Cochins, Sizzles, Speckled Sussex , Pearl Guineas, and Swedish Blue Ducks. Coming soon, Lemon Cuckoo Orpingtons and Black Austrolorps!

X2 As long as there's life, there's hope. They may hatch soon, but you may need to assist at some point. Have they pipped internally yet? Candle again and have a look quick and make a note where the air sac is also.

Have a look here so you know whats going on in there and what to do:

Good luck!

One hatched quickly and easily this afternoon. Just checked the other, I don't see movement. But I will leave it in another day or so just in case.

fl.gif Have you tapped the egg to see if it's alive? Hold the egg against your ear and tap it. If there's a live chick inside it will respond by either cheeping or tapping back or squirming.
