A croaking chicken

I used to have nine but now I only have 5. My 2 hens died because of a raccoon. I just couldn't get over that and I gave my roosters away because they were being really mean to the hens. Did I do the right thing.:/
 
Did you do the right thing? Two roos would have been too many for five hens.

Sorry you lost two to the raccoon. Did you tighten up the coop so it wouldn't happen again?

There are 11 plus a rooster here. Was supposed to be nine. Three of the first seven turned out to be roosters. Bought 8 more thinking there would be three more roosters in the batch and it turned out there was only one.
