What color eggs do Silkies lay?!?

I have two silkies that just started to lay...one lays a cream colored egg with very faint spots on it and the other a bright white also with spots. Question though...I have a silkie trio, but no fertile eggs yet... Is it harder to get fertilized silkie eggs?

If your Silkies are good quality (read: super fluffy), the rooster could be having a hard time hitting the mark. If you aren't showing them, you could trim around their vents. Trim about an inch below the roosters vent and above the hens. If you are showing, your only option is AI (artificial insemination). There are some videos on Youtube that can show you how that's done.
If your Silkies have just started mating, it could also be that your boy is just uncoordinated. It takes them a little practice to do it right. Good luck :)

My silkie eggs are cream colored, when they do lay. Mine rarely lay anything, but are constantly broody. Not so much right now in the dead of winter, but it causes huge problems with my non-broody hens who just want to lay an egg in the nest box in the spring, summer, and fall. My silkies basically live in my garage during those times

My blue silkie laid her first egg today, it was cream colored. My white silkie lays white eggs. When shes not broody she pops out an egg almost EVERY day. But she goes broody like clock work every two or two and a half weeks. I have her sitting on an egg right now. She was so happy when I finally caved in and let her sit on one. I have a rooster now who is a non stop love machine, so I'll probably have a lot of fertile eggs. I candled it, but its hard to tell, its a brown egg, but it looks like theres veins inside of it. I just have to pray its not a rooster. I just had a Daphne turn out to be a Donald.

My second Silkie laid her first egg today! Her sister started 2 weeks ago. These are our first Silkies, so we are soo excited. Little light cream colored eggs.

Here's a pic of her egg today beside our RIR's. So cute!

And here's a pic of my girls just for the heck of it!

Aww, your girls are beautiful! Thanks for the advice! My favorite breed of chicken are silkies. How old are your silkies? When did your silkies start laying?

Thanks! The pics are from last November so they are even fluffier and filled out now. I need to take some current ones. The first one was 32 weeks when she laid and her sister was 34. Seemed like an eternity waiting for them! We have 4 big girls too and the Silkies are fast becoming our favorite too. They are so sweet and I love their soft little noises they make!

How old were your silkies when they came into lay? Mine is about 7.5 mts old waiting for an egg

unless the one on the upper left is it?

I found this egg in the dirt beside of the nesting boxes. I'm assuming it belongs to Onyx, my 24week old silkie..
