Colorado girl raises chickens, helps save family

I didn't see this posted elsewhere on BYC, and it's a very nice story.

A 9 year old Colorado girls mother was in a nursing home, father had trouble making ends meet. She borrowed money from her grandmother and went into egg farming; her business earns $15k per year and it kept the family in their home through the rough times. She's now 13 and has 135 chickens.

What a special, caring young lady.  Thanks for sharing!

Whoever said don't count your chickens before they're hatched clearly never tried to count chickens after they're hatched.

That is really good.

It could happen. Just remember, Pluto used to be a planet.

And when things go wrong, always remember, even geese cheat sometimes.
