This here is probably my favorite horse in the whole world. Hopefully in the near future I can actually afford to have a horse...then she'll be all MINE!!

Until then, I at least get to work with her when I'm working. lol
These are not all great pictures, but fun enough to share.

This is the little chestnut filly Spitfire, less than a day old. She is out of a Thoroughbred mare (off the track), sire unknown. I'm pretty sure dad was an Arab though. At least half-Arab.

3 days old, having a run in the indoor with mom. Mom was very thin because the people who had her before donating her to us, had no idea she was pregnant. They had bought her for a pleasure horse and I guess the sellers "forgot" to mention that she was in foal. Or, maybe they didn't even know!? So the previous owners thought the mare was just getting fat and kept cutting down her feed. Finally someone got enough brains to call the vet. lol And surprise! Prenant mare! They realized they couldn't keep a mare with a foal so they looked us up and we went and picked up the mare. Everything turned out well in the end!

My pretty little girl, first time outside! She was probably 3-4 days old here. I started calling her Shrimp because she was red and just reminded me of a shrimp. Today, she comes when I call her Shrimp. I don't think she knows her name is really Spitfire.

She also goes by the name of Bucky Betty at times! Can you tell why?

This is mom sometime after weaning. Turned out she had some soft tissue damage to her right stifle so we decided not to ride her. We found the mare a beautiful home on 8 acres with another chestnut off the track Thoroughbred with an old leg injury. Apparently they look like twins and became best friends instantly, the day the mare went to her new home. They're just big pets with an owner who was studying to become an equine massage therapist. Doesn't get much better than that, huh? I miss this mare terribly but I'm so glad we found her such a great home.

Here is Shrimp at about a year old.

Probably a year and a half old.

And the rest of the "newer" pictures are still in my old laptop.

Some day I'll get them out and transfer them on this new one.
And when I have the time, I'll have to get some fresh pictures of little Shrimpy.

Oh, we had our first horse show Sunday! I entered her in a open halter class. We had 4 other horses in the class and we WON!

It was a very, very small show, but a win is a win, right? I wanted her to have the experience and boy, did she impress me! Her behavior was excellent.

She wasn't named Spitfire for nothing, you know! lol

Oh...one last one! The Many Faces of Shrimp

Those are quite the faces on Shrimp there, Sanna!...

. What a great picture story! ....with lots of good in it! Congrats on the halter class win! I bet she will be all yours before you know it!

Maybe instead of not liking the snow, you and Shrimp can look forward to it, so you can draw silly pictures on snowy side hills....

I like to draw using a horse for a pencil in the snow....lol. It may not look like it, but that bull is HUGE!!!
