Stop smoking support thread...

Ive realized that everytime im dry i have a hanquering want to smoke more cigarettes. But when i got weeds for example https://www.bonzaseeds.com/blog/cannalope-haze/, its literally the exact opposite effect, basically.
Has anyone else had this type of experience? Or even researched this topic? I have heard about people actually quitting by substituting it w/ bud. Interesting to me.
I've been having trouble myself trying to quit smoking cigars. I tried searching for other alternatives like vaping but after a month i came back to ciggaretes. I was so desperate to quit and avoid nicotine but then i came across this article that says marijuana can help you quit smoking ciggaretes and turns out, CBD can help after all.CBD can remove positively associated smoking memories from the brain, making it easier for the user to quit altogether. Can someone give me more information or any tips? Thanks

Addiction makes you it's slave .your always worried about running out of the stuff .instead of enjoying a good movie or something like that your thinking you need a smoke .a long plane flight to even a move vacation forget that when your addicted not only are you worried about the smokes you worry about how to light them to. That the best part of saying no more i want to be free?

What's the sense of jumping from one addiction to another. Don't you want a be free ,of having to have something? would it not be nice just to remember to bring your car keys on that drive out of town? Or book that vacation flight with out any worry how your going to do it with out a smoke break.

quitting means your done . You flush them all down the toilet. Setting a pack or some a side just means you want to see how long you can go with out smoking. when you stop smoking What's your giving up is just slavery what's your getting back is a life free from being a slave to packs of smoke and stuff to light them .

When I was 5 my father's lung collapsed and he was hospitalized. It was very scary to me and I didn't understand any of it. He had been a very heavy smoker. In the army they gave out cigarettes like candy. How nice NOT. Anyway that scared him and he quite cold turkey.

My brother in law was the worst chain smoker I had ever been around. My friends smoked alot, I never did. It's stupid- I was afraid of lighting a match but, it kept me from ever wanting to light up.

My sister and her two daughters all ended up with allergies, one daughter has asthma too. They would cry and beg their father to stop smoking. He couldn't care less. THEN he had a minor heart attack- that scared the daylights out of him and he quit cold turkey. Not only that he had a fit if someone smoked near him. He also decided to quit working.

Sometime later my sister had a heart attack at work. She was hospitalized and gradually went back to work. He never had a decent job and the health insurance and other perks came from her working for 28 years for the village.

What a turn of events. He didn't mind that he was poisoning his family with second hand
smoke. But he was worried finally that it could kill him. He never smoked again.

4 days before his 50th. anniversary of marriage to my sister, he died from lung cancer that had spread. There are many better ways to die than from that. My sister had driven him to all his doctor appts. etc. she lost so much weight worrying and carrying for him- she looked anorexic. The morning he was supposed to enter hospice care- he died.

He was 9 years older than my sister, an alcoholic and gambler. The wedding $$$ they received went to pay off his gambling debts. Love is blind they say. I'll never know why my sister thought he was best of the lot she dated. She had been a strong, intelligent, independent woman. Then she married him and totally changed. He was a control freak among all his other"good" traits, also divorced from a first wife.

Sorry I ranted on so much. I have seen how someone who is determined to quit smoking can do so COLD turkey. They just have to want to do it that badly and obviously only for themselves.
