What do you grow to feed the chickens??

Turnip tops,Cherry tomatoes,Kale,Cayene peppers,lettuce,xtra squash n pumpkins.
I get what I want but majority goes to them.

I see you have many of the same birds that I have; marans and muscovy.Orpingtons and amercaucans

Do you keep the tunip bottoms for your self? Or grown the greens for the birds??

Mine love kale, collard greens and swiss chard.. that is when I can keep the cows and deer out of it!

I love those too!!!

I'm planting some herbs just for them under the windows of their coop and planning on broadcasting herbs and greens with the grass seed (got that great idea from BYCs own Delisha). Oregano, spinach, dill, that sort. Otherwise they get the scraps that we don't eat. (carrot tops vanished in seconds. carrots... not so much)

Delishicious choices there.
Thanks for the complete list of herbs. Carrots-- in my house the dog gets the carrots, and I'll remember to give the greens to the chickens.!!

I have discovered AMaranth is totally edible, the seeds and the leaves.

Turnips--leaves and root

Burmuda grass type grasses have been a favorite here so I'll plant more.
