I have muscovies that are laying feb 3 or so I only had two nests for the ducks made and it seems 4 of them are laying in two nests .I have made two more nest boxes for them but no takers yet.I have removed the first fourteen eggs as I have read about them not being fertile, the first ones that is,i don't know .The first question is how can i separate them ? Also it will still be cold potentially in the end of march or beginning april ,if the cold does not kill the eggs am I going to have to put these chicks in a brooder because they will be too cold for them to come out and eat,or should I just take the eggs away .Any ideas?
I am in southern colorado so the weather could be nice or nasty. Thanks in advance.
