Here I am, lying in bed, just about to fall... a...sleep... When it hit me--I took pictures of the Fab Five for their 8 month hatchday anniversary and I never uploaded them!

Granted, it was not the most pleasant day, and certain birds were not being cooperative, and I couldn't get very good pictures of those certain birds, but I have pictures nonetheless.

Poggy the speckled Sussex was first to pose for me:

1000

Frou-frou the blue splash Marans never turns down attention:

1000

Fancy the partridge Plymouth Rock was much, much too busy in the nest box to pose for a picture:

1000

Fancy's 'twin', She Who, was vying for a spot in that same nest box:

1000

Biddy-bird the speckled Sussex finally stood still long enough for a picture:

1000

Well... This was one of the few times they stood still long enough for a picture...

1000

As you can see by the ruffled feathers, it was quite windy today:

1000

1000

And... yeah, that's it. Good night, BYC! :frow :th

Thinking of getting a Blue Splash Marans, how do you like yours?

Do you want one for production or as a pet? Frou-Frou laid very few eggs that were quite small for her size, and they also were not very dark at all for a Marans. But I adored that bird more than I can ever put into words. She was such a lovable, huggable, personable hen who loved taking walks with me or being carried around and spoiled with treats. Everything about her is on her page: https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/kristins-chickens-frou-frou
