WAIT! DUH! I HAVE seen it. Don't know why I didn't rememebr the title. LOL And my reasons for watching were the same. But it wasn't as fun because I was watching it with my husband and FIL.
OMG. Old Yeller. Pretty sure that one scarred me for life and is the sole reason I cry at the drop of a hat during movies. LOL! There's a movie from the 80s(?) with Kevin Costner, Revenge I think. For whatever reason, I have seen it more than once and every single time I have watched it, I start sobbing at the beginning credits and whenever the certain music is played that is really sad. From start to finish, I'm a hot mess and I cannot explain it. It's not like it was some cinematic achievement or anything but it wrecked me every time I watched it. The only other movie that makes me sob from beginning to end is Big Fish. I saw it in the theater when it came out and the whole time I was thinking "I can't imagine going through this with my dad, it would kill me". My BFF & husband teased me for being such a mess and thinking such things. I told them it just didn't sit right with me and for days after I couldn't shake it. My dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer less than a year after the movie was released. When I got the phone call that day, before my mom even said hello, I had a heavy feeling and thought to myself "this is a Big Fish call". And when I asked her if he was ill, she asked me who already told me. It was creepy. I still ove that movie, though. it had such a wonderful story woven into the sadness of it all. And Albert Finney is jst awesome anyway.
On a happier note, I think 2 of my favorite funny movies would have to be A Fish Called Wanda and It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World. My dad loved them too. Both are ridiculously funny.
