Current Movies - Thumbs UP or Thumbs DOWN

I see quite a few movies a year, while critic's reviews are okay I prefer the opinions of friends/family. This thread is not meant to be a critique but, a poster's personal opinion. PLEASE do not include spoilers and definitely no pornographic films. I think we will be fine if we just start with titles and ratings if known ie., PG, PG-13. R etc.

SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK (R) big thumbs UP
Excellent performances and cast. Saw it twice.

Funny,sweet, NOT your usual zombie movie.
Hope to see it again - I smiled all the way home.

Thumbs up to Best Marigold Hotel for sure.

Also thumbs up for Argo and Lincoln.

Yay Chicks you are so right re: The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel was one of my favorites. I hear they are thinking of a sequel.

Cluckcluckluke Yes - the Hobbit was very good. I especially like Bilbo and Thorin. Not so happy that they are stretching 2 more movies out of the very slim book. So it will be quite awhile before the big dragon fight.

Yeah, I'm not keen on waiting for the other 2.

I loved warm bodies. It was the perfect chick flick for chicks who don't like chick flicks! Lol I wasn't expecting it to be that good because zombie movies always seem the same to me. This one was VERY different.

Chickerdoodle13 I can't get anyone to go see Warm Bodies because they think I have odd taste in movies. Well sometimes you find a real treasure and this is it.

Chickerdoodle, I love your description of Warm Bodies ("a chick flick for chicks who don't like chick flicks"). I'll have to check it out.

Hobbit....Peter Jackson needs to handed a pair of scissors and sent back to editing room.
Best Marigold Hotel...two thumbs up
Premium Rush...two thumbs up, requires turning off your inner skeptic, as do most action movies
Skyfall...good Bond fun
Hope Springs...good, middle aged couples movie
Trouble With the Curve...Amy Adams, Justin Timberlake, and Clint Eastwood. What's not to like? Kinda predictable but very watchable.
the two Snow White movies...I like them, not memorable, not much to them
Breaking Dawn...I only watched part of it, and didn't pay for it, thank god. This movie made me think "just shoot me now" and "where's Buffy when you need here?" It might be better than a bullet to the head.
Hanna...two hours of my life wasted. Do not watch this movie, awful, pointless, and incredibly violent.

I'm looking forward to catching some movies. I want to see Life of Pi, Flight, Warm Bodies. I would watch a movie every night if I could.

Django Unchained = not enough thumbs.

other than that, I've only watched Kurosawa's "Ran" and just started what amounts to a Japanese "Hunger Games" ("Battle Royale")...sooo, probably not what thumbs are desired for.

I am eagerly awaiting the new Twilight movie to hit Rifftrax. X)
