For Sale - - 12+ Welsummer hatching eggs. PLEASE CHECK THE LAST PAGE OF THIS THREAD FOR AVAILABILITY. I WILL TRY AND POST WHEN I HAVE SOME AVAILABLE AND WHEN I DO NOT. Welsummers lay a beautiful dark brown, terra cotta colored or speckled brown eggs. I have a 5:1 hen to rooster ratio so fertility is excellent. I have been hatching my own eggs and fertility has been near 100% here. I recently had a broody hen hatch 10/10 eggs.
As with all dark egg layers, eggs do lighten towards the end of the laying cycle. Mine are mid to end of their laying cycle and have lightened a little. Several of my hens have molted over the winter and the eggs are darkening up again. I will include at least 1 extra, more if available the day of shipping. My birds are from Channing Grisham/ Lowell Barber lines originally. I have been working with this group of Welsummers a little over 6 years and I'm seeing some nice results with eggs coloring and correct feathering.
I will bubble wrap each egg and pack securely in shredded paper. I will do my best to insure that your eggs arrive safely. As is the case with all shipped eggs there lies a risk of broken eggs or poor hatching due to many factors like rough postal handling, incubation practices and so on. If you should receive more broken eggs than the listing let me know and I will due my best to work something out with you. Average hatch rates on shipped eggs are about 60%. I have had many customers with better than that, some near 100%. I cannot guarantee what you will get. I hope that you get 100% but reality is you will probably not. Shipped eggs are a little risky. I mean we are talking about eggs being shipped through the mail. It is what it is. With that being said....

I accept PayPal payment only please. Please pay for eggs as soon as possible to ensure the freshest eggs. Delay in payment will only mean a delay in shipping and older eggs. I normally like to ship eggs Monday-Wednesday or on Saturday after payment has been confirmed. This is so that we don't end up with a layover somewhere over the weekend. I can ship express mail if you like, it's more expensive but the postal service does guarantee delivery time with it. I use priority mail normally which they say 2-3 days but they will not guarantee that. (I have ask). If you would like an express mail quote let me know your zip code. PM me if you have questions, additional details or would like to purchase.

Once you receive your eggs from me, carefully unpack them and place them large side up in a carton for at least 12 hours outside your incubator ( this allows the air sacks to stabilize after shipment). Then place them in the incubator. If there is a problem please contact me so we can work it out. I do my best securely packaging my eggs and I am not accountable for any postal misdeeds. I have a lot of experience packaging eggs to be mailed via USPS. I do guarantee that I will send you fresh eggs with a high degree of fertility...I hatch many of my own eggs.

72 hour heat packs are available for $4 if temps are very cold.

Please check the last page of this add to check availability. I sell out pretty quickly every week. I also try to post week by week if I'm sold out or have some available.

I ship to USA only. Lower 48 states only.

Shipping is $13.95, shipped in a priority mail box with tracking number.

Are your chicks sexable by head triangle and eyeliner? Some lines are not as accurate as others.
Do you have more photos of your breeding hens and cock?
Yes mine are very easily sexable at birth. This top pic shows 3 female 1 male. The front right is male no eyeliner or clearly defined " V " marking. Other 3 have them.

These 3 of these below are all female, you can see the clear " V " on the top left chick. All chicks I have ever hatched from my stock have these markings.

This is Rocky. He's the boss (my 10 year old son has named the roosters) I have 1 other breeding age rooster and 13 hens. I have several juvenile birds almost ready to go into the breeder pen.

Hey Brian,

Where in Arkansas are you? I'm in eastern Arkansas (Lee County), rather than shipping I may be interested in coming to pickup some eggs if you are close.

Hi, I am on the western side of the state in Ozark (Franklin County).

Just received the 13 eggs you shipped Monday. They are all in great shape. Thanks again.

Mr. Walden:
