This is my first time of having a mix of breeds. I have two cochins, two buff orpingtons, and two red sex links. They are in a pretty large space. Even so they are constantly butting chests and kicking legs. Mostly it's one ofmycochins and buff orpington doing it. The others only do if they are caught off guard. Are they doing this because of the different breeds or what ?
Multiple breeds, chicks sparring a lot.

They should be alright as long as no one gets trampled. It just becomes more of a problem I believe if they're say bantams and regular chicks or multiple ages.

I think the sex links are a tad older then the other four but they seem to stay out of it. Also do Roos seem to become friendly quicker?
In my experience, it did seem as though the friendliest chicks - which of course would endear themselves to us, ended up being roos and the hens were a little more "stand-offish". However, as they get older, it did a complete turnaround and our roos don't really like to be held or pet much, but our hens will come right up to us and some jump into our lap.
