Sophia and my husband. She is gorgeous. :)

Sorry to hijack this post, but just wondering when do your first years start laying? I heard February, but my duck started, but not Sophie. So later on probably?

I think it depends on where you live & the temps. I'm in CA so mine always start about Valentine's day. They will  lay thru about April. She should start laying anytime. She is lovely ~!!!!!

Hi!  What state are you located in?  Not to be daft....would I hatch these in my incubator at 100 degree like other large birds?  Are they safely shipped - by what method?  Also, can they fend for themselves with dogs like other geese?  Please advise!

I'm located in CA. I pack my eggs just like any other hatching eggs with bubble wrap in a box with shredded paper, etc. They are shipped USPS Priority mail with delivery confirmation. When incubating, the eggs need to be cooled twice a day for about 10 minutes & sprayed lightly with water. As far as dogs....what kind? how big? are they aggressive? You couldn't expect goslings to defend themselves, perhaps after they mature but I have no thoughts on that as we do not own dogs.
