I have 6 baby ducks coming in April, 2 cayugas, 2 khaki campbells and 2 black runners all females.
I have never had baby ducks before is their anything I should know that differs with baby chicks.. I am getting more baby chicks at the same time.

Congrats! Ducklings are soo much fun to be around. You just need to make sure to keep the bedding dry, since ducks are VERY messy and slop the water everywhere, and the chicks can get cold really easy. Have fun!

the chicks I have coming are.. Black Australorps, Rose Comb br. leghorns, Cuckoo marans, Ancona and Ameraucana's

good choices!

I would suggest reading the duck forum "stickies". Ducks have different requirements than chickens - they need to be able to stick their heads in the water to keep their nares and eyes clean, use lots of water as the drink a lot and slop it all over, require lower temperatures, grow faster than chicks and will require a larger brooder, and should not be fed medicated chick feed. They also have higher niacin requirement than chicks.

Best of luck to you!
