BACKYARD GOATS?

MOST goats are fairly quiet if they are content. If they aren't, they will let you know. If they have company, suitable shelter, shade, plenty of good food and fresh water, noise should not be a problem. Goats are most vocal at feeding time and when they are in heat. That said, goats are individuals. Some are more talkative than others. A friend once gave me a LaMancha doe she called The American Loudmouth because she wouldn't shut up. Once she settled into my place I hardly ever heard a peep out of her. I don't know why. As for what kind of goat you should get, for the size of your property you would be a lot better off with a mini goat rather than a full size animal.
