How to convince your husband to build you a chicken coop

Haha, too funny! SWMLF chicky who loves chicken poo.

I am pretty easy, I learned fast that if I can help out and be excited about her stuff then I can have what I want. Keeping 60+ tarantulas with a semi-phobic lady ruling the roost is no small feat and I can appreciate that and her learning to like them a little too, albeit from afar and not always. She gets her closet of shoes, I get my spiders. We get along great. And I do all the cooking. There was a work emergency tonight and she called to say I should pick up dinner or be prepared to drown her attempt in sour cream to cover up the burnedness lol.

If she wants to buy me a bunch of new tools I will gladly play with them all on her behalf!

Oh, heck. Just do it yourself. My hubby decided he would "help" me with my second coop. That was his way of taking over for the afternoon. LOL My biggest help in coop building is my friendly ladder. It holds up 2x4x8s for me, even 2x4x10s occasionally. It also holds the drill and various screws and hardware. A ladder is also a bit easier to work with as you don't need to ask/tell it what you want. You just move it to where you need some help and you are good to go. LOL

Kudos to you if you can get your hubby to build a coop for you. I'd still be waiting for my first one if I tried. ;)

Woohoo! As a reaction to my letter AND to the fact that we bought some fresh yard eggs from a local farmer (first time tasting fresh eggs for both of us, I might add) he said we could get our chicks this weekend!!! We have a perfect setup for a brooder - he just happens to have an 80 gallon aquarium up in the attic - so while chicks are growing we can be building the coop! He did nix the design I liked but I don't care, as long as my chickies get a house! :D

I have a big birthday coming up and hubby was worried I'd want a significant piece of jewelry. He was relieved when I said I'd like a coop and he really had to get busy once I placed the chicken order. Interestingly, the coop he designed is costing much more than the jewelry would have been!
