My locked down eggs are due today, three hatched in the night, but one hatched with it's belly exposed and some organs hanging out. So I am culling sadly, but I am worried about the other eggs. I have 29 eggs in there in various stages of hatching and they are COVERED in blood and yuck from this chick. This is a first for me, I need to know what I should do. Leave them alone? Will the blood make the eggs harder to hatch out of? Try to clean them super fast with a wet rag?

I say leave them be. The blood isnt thick enough or heavy enough to make a problem hatching. Hatching problems like that happen sadly

Thank you! I can't promise I won't fret all day, but I will leave them be and hope! The worst part is, this hatch had a chance of having some frizzled Turkens hatch and of course that chick was a beautiful little naked neck.

Maybe some of the others will be frizzles.. I fret all day about them when I have something out of the ordinary so I understand.. Just keep busy and take deep breaths!!

I hope so! Man I am so worried, you just expect to wake up and open the lid of the hatcher to see cute babies hopping around, not the chick version of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre!

i am horrified by the amount of blood one tiny chick can lose and still be peeping and walking around.

I know, they are so strong and just have a tremendous will to live.

Good news, we have a Turken! And it is taking after its Grandfather, it is BLUE! Now we wait a couple of weeks and see if it completely takes after Grandaddy and Frizzles!
