Can I use the deep litter method with pine needles? Will be for turkeys (Beltsville small white). I am researching before starting our coop and run. I live in a dry wooded area.
I've done a fair amount of reading on the forums, where I found plenty of folks endorsing pine neeedles / pine straw as bedding, so long as it stays dry. Just wasn't sure if I could do deep litter, if it is different with turkeys vs. chickens, and whether I would need to add something else (like pine shavings) with it. Thanks!
