Sponsored Post Hatching the Facts on Medicated Chick Starter Feeds for Layers

Chicken math?? Hmm I must learn some of that lol.

Actually so do I!

I am using medicated chick starter on my next batch of chicks I get.

Atm I have my 26 x 5 week old chicks on 26% gamebird feed, but that's b/c they are headed for freezer camp.

Can you ferment this medicated chick starter? I am just planning on wetting the feed, but prefer to offer ff to my flocks, but offer free choice non ff, as it seems like the older chickens know what they want/need.

Today I'm off to the feed store for yet more chicken food lol and then possibly off to my friends flock to pick up itty bitty peep peeps to bring home.

How long does it take for a chick on medicated feed to build an immunity to cocci? I estimate that I will need to buy more feed before my chicks reach 8 weeks in age and I want to know if it would be safe to switch to non-medicated chick feed or stay with the medicated feed longer.
What was the answer? I would like to transition as well but have heard different contridicting responses.

Is amproilum safe for ducks, geese, & turkeys? Either as a medication or if it's just ingested in passing if they pick up some of the medicated feed?
I've heard it isn't safe for ducks to have medicated food. And just last night heard that turkeys either? But on this forum I've read turkeys should have it??
