Help, I have a hen who is hiccuping/sneezing/coughing and I want to cure her. I'm going to put Duramycin-10 in the flocks' drinking water, but don't know the proper dosage. Is there an egg withdrawal period? Thanks!

Proud owner of a Shih Tzu (Snickers), 4 cats (Peppy, Gizmo, Lil Kitty, and Lindy), 2 chinchillas (Ivory & Ebony), 4 guinea pigs (Ozzie, Freckles, Baby Girl, and Zack), 18 wonderful chickens, 5 quacking ducks, and a beta fish RIP ChiChi & Chia <3

I just gave them one tbsp. in their gallon of water. Is the withdrawal period 14 days or 21 days?

Your dosage is correct, 1 tablespoon per gallon of water for 7-14 days for the 800mg dosage. There is a 21 day withdrawal period.

Thank you. So I should give them the tbsp. of Duramycin-10 for about a week? Also, do these symptoms sound like they can be treated with this antibiotic? Will it hurt them if they aren't sick? One more question: is CRD one of the carrying diseases?

Also, can you set eggs to hatch while the eggs can't be eaten because they're on withdrawal?

To be clear on the egg withdrawal time for Duramycin 10, this product is NOT labeled for egg layers and states on the label “Not for use in turkeys or chickens producing eggs for human consumption”.  This product has not been tested on eggs, therefore Durvet cannot recommend anything for off-label use.  It is suggested that you contact your veterinarian for advice.
