There was no eggs in the duck coop this morning. I've been getting one egg for around two weeks, then two for a good 4 days or so, then this morning, nothing. I cannot find any info on if they continue to lay if you take them. All I can find is they lay 5-12 eggs then start sitting on them. But what if you take them? Do they just keep laying? If there's no eggs is there a problem with the girls or is it normal for them not to lay once in a while? TIA

My girls just atarted laying a couple weeks ago too! within a week all 3 were laying and only 1 day since then did I only find 2

I take the eggs every morning-waiting for it to warm up a little before I let them hatch any

Did you let them out really early-maybe they are laying outside?

How old are they? also, some of mine are having a little spring molt and they don't lay as often while they are loosing and making new feathers so I'm only getting about 1/2 as many eggs as I usually get.

Well I figured out what was going on with the eggs, they've built nests and were hiding them from me! Little sneaks lol. I think they are about 9 months old now. This morning there was just one egg and when I let them out one of my females disappeared. I looked all over the yard for her and finally found her behind some hay bales sitting on 4 eggs!! She's being very sweet and moved off the nest when I touched her. She stood there while I pet her then went and sat back down on them

I do have some more questions - will it stress the girls out if I keep taking the eggs? If I do take them will they just keep laying pretty much everyday? Will that stress them out and deplete their calcium and other nutrients? A friend of mine suggested getting fake eggs fro them to sit on. I did get layer food from tsc and I have a bowl of oyster shell out there. The guy at tsc said that it was fine for my drake to eat the layer food, that it was just a little higher in calcium and protein. Also she has made her nest outside the coop I lock them in at night. I really shouldn't allow eggs to hatch right now. I don't think my pond could support any more ducks. (We're hoping to move sometime in the near future and then I would absolutely let some hatch.) So should I just leave them where they are? Or will it freak her out to keep her away from her eggs all night?
