Double yolk eggs?

how often is too often? One of my chickens started laying in April and has laid 4-5 double yolks since then. Maybe I am feeding her too much? She is the only one.

Hi my chickens have also been laying for only around 3 months and we get a double yolk egg around once every two weeks. It always comes from my biggest chicken who tends to eat more than the rest so I'm sure that has something to do with her laying bigger eggs. I have heard this is also not unusual in chickens who are new layers and still getting their system used to laying eggs. I wouldn't worry that you're feeding her too much, it will probably settle down in time.

One of my 6 girls just started laying eggs yesterday (she's the only one in my flock to lay so far) and this evening when I cracked her egg open it was a double yolker!

I know they're pretty common for new layer's but I thought it was pretty cool! I'm a new chicken mom and I'm just excited my little free loaders have finally started working for me. LOL
