All,
I am Troy and I am trying to get upto (6) backyard chickens allowed in the R-1 Zones of Palmdale CA. Please, visit the City of Palmdale website and email the Planning Commission and City Counsel's so show a strong community support for our property rights, and to be self sufficent. I appreciate any support on this topic as it started out just to educate my daughters on where eggs come from (not the supermarket)
but now is to also not buy eggs from producers of harsh chicken conditions of broken legs, and burned off beaks!
Also, I have a open question; Is it not our constitutional right to raise chickens? Life (supplied by food); Liberty (not have to buy at the store); Pursuit of happyness (watching the children play with the chickens and the chickens life being improved)?
Anyways, Los Angeles, San Diego, Aniheim, Downey and other cities allow them, but our community only allows 20,000 sq ft properties..why have a 4H club if 90% of the children will not be allowed to have chickens as they are Zoned into R-1 like the chicken in the cramped cages are freedoms are taken!
