Where to buy Americaunas that lay true blue eggs?

Ameraucanas are not a mixed breed - Easter Eggers are, and a lot of hatcheries call EE's Ameraucanas, and sell birds that are not truly Ameraucans. This is a HUGE issue for the breed. When Ameraucana is spelled with an "i" it is most definitely an EE. As far as I know, no hatcheries are selling a true Ameraucana despite what they might have on their website.

A true Ameraucana will always lay a blue egg. Go to a real breeder who is recognized by the Amerauca club of America -there is a breeder list on your website. If you want a true Ameraucana, do your research

I bought 2 ameracauna pullets from a local farm store last year and neither lay blue or green eggs. The both lay rose colored eggs though one produces green spots on hers. I bought 2 more pullets this year from a different farm store so I hope I get some blues or greens out of them this summer/ fall. Regardless I think they are beautiful and add lovely color to our flock.

If they are rumpless and tufted they are not Ameraucana. Please do your research and know what breed you are asking for. If you wanted a Collie would you buy a poodle puppy and expect it to turn into a collie?

From what I can tell, the breed standards for Americaunas call for a true blue coloring on the eggshells. Not green or brown, as with "Easter Eggers." Is that right? And if so, please tell me where I can buy pure Americauna chicks? Thanks!!
Go to the Ameraucana Breeder's website. You say you've had trouble buying from breeders, but if you're serious about wanting a purebred, you must find one to trust. If you want a mutt, go to a hatchery. Or a feed store.

You will probably find 5 people on here who will try to convince you their Easter Egger is an Ameraucana and say "just get one at such and such a place", but it's just not true.

What part of the country are you located in?

eta: You can get a blue egg laying EE, or a shade of it. But, the breed standards also call for one of 8 colors. If you want to be sure you're getting a purebred, make sure it's one of those colors.

How can I find out if there is one of those clubs or a breeder in my area that will sell me ones that lay true blue eggs? I'm in Austin TX and still pretty new at raising chickens but think if possible this would be the best way to get more. We got one from a store here and it actually lays more of a green egg and my daughter was so disappointed when they weren't really blue like we had been told.
