When are these ready to harvest? I know I'm supposed to leave them out to dry and stuff, but can anyone give me a time frame? They're really weighing my tree down.

Walnut hulls fall from the tree in early Fall usually around Frost time...depending on where you live...you just pick them up in buckets, lay them out in the sun to dry the hull and wearing gloves you will have to take the shell out of the hull.because they will stain your hands.....let it dry somemore, and then you crack the nuts open to harvest....wear gloves!!...or you will have permanent coloring for weeks on your hands
If you have a gravel driveway, spread them out and drive over them and the husks will come off. My MIL spends all winter cracking and picking out the nutmeats from her black walnut tree.

Jesus, I didn't even check back. My nuts
are massive now! I guess I still have a little while longer to wait. Frost here is mid October-ish.
