Glad you have joined us.

It is best that their primary nutrition be from a complete feed starter/grower made for baby chicks. But it is ok to treat with the boiled eggs, just don't over do it. I would not give them bread. Do place some baby chick grit - very small amt - mixed in their feed.

To start a new thread, look at the top of the first page on your selected forum and click on "Start a thread".

I would suggest you start a new thread under the new members so you get a proper welcoming from the gang.

If you haven't already done so, visit the learning center articles, there's a lot of info there to help with raising your baby chicks.

Feel free to ask questions, but best to start your own thread for those. Good luck.

This is sealymay and I just joined this group and I can not find out how to post anything. I am new to raising back yard chickens, though not new to chickens. We just got it legalized here in Athens, Georgia, and I am so happy about it. I do organic and heirloom gardening, etc. I am trying to find out information for ordering chicks (I want either Silkie or Ameracauna chicks). I have almost completed a coop and run and would like to talk to folks in the chicken community. I am an urban farmer with about 1.3 acres of good land right in town. I hope someone will contact me and help me with this site. I am at email wag [email protected]. Wagjosh is all one word, all lower case. Thanks.

Oh I'm finally on here ! I'm in Jackson Tn. My husband is building Taj Mahal in the back yard. We got a "free" old English Banty Roo a few weeks ago. Getting 4 hens next weekend. One each - buff Orpington, barred rock, buff brahma & golden Wyandotte. Any help is appreciated.
