milk for chickens

I spent 2+ weeks in Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Lichtenstein and Austria. I for one can tell you that their milk is disgusting. The roasted chicken was beyond delicious, but I avoided the milk like poison.

In Italy it is legal to buy direct from certified producers. It is very good milk, unpasteurised, but you have to live there and know the locals (or know someone who knows the locals). Barns may have only 10 cows, it is all smalland hard to find. Not sure how you could find their milk disgusting when ours is just as bad (from the supermarket), though I agree. Regrettably, here in Michigan direct milk sales are illegal, so I go without.

Interestingly, milk is sometimes given to create diarrhea in chickens and is then given for seven days straight, as a Coccidiomycosis flush. It's used exclusively as a TREATMENT (it won't PREVENT Coccidio).
