QUESTIONS on incubating peahen eggs...

Every day from week 2 I open the incubator and let the eggs cool for about 10 minutes. Tried it a couple batches now. Simulates pea-mom stepping off the nest. I had read it helps the egg shells become more brittle which aids in chicks breaking out. I've had a little higher hatch rate, anyone else use this method or seen any results?

My Brinsea's have a cooling cycle you can program in.

I liken the cooling cycle to me opening the incubator every day to retrieve hatched chicks or peas and checking water since I do that manually. I do lose humidity though so i top off the incubator trays with a bit of HOT water to bump it back up quick when I close it. I also candle about once a week when I know nothing is due to hatch that day. They trick me sometimes though and pip early. I can see a cooling cycle built in as much better so you never drop humidity but I stagger so many hatches now that I am down to only one incubator. I used to have 3 but just can't work that hard any more.
