Backyard Chickens in Milton Ontario?

Hi from Milton,

I was wondering if anyone had info on the bylaws in Milton Ontario. Are we allowed to have backyard chickens in Milton? One of the Farm and Feed vendors in our town told us yes, but I couldn't find anything about it online. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi, I could swear I already replied, but the town of Milton ON specifically forbids the keeping of chickens. Now there is a form you can fill out that is kind of like a 'permit', but not sure if that would cause more trouble than anything. Guess it depends where in Milton you are. The Niagara/Grand river escarpment commission has an opinion about livestock as well. I'd be interested in hearing your location! Milton is small and there are a few really cool 'chicken chicks' in our area. Pm me!
